How the Festival fits into your day
- The Festival unlocks early and is not gated behind a level gate. One source ties it to the quest Visions in Smoke, another places it immediately after pets become available. Either way it is available well before the content most players are working through.
- Entering a game is free. Claiming what you earned is not, and that is the entire reason keys matter.
- Every rewarded game pays from one shared reward table split into nine character-level brackets, from level 10 up to level 50. The table scales with your level rather than with the content you clear.
- The Festival rotates hourly all day, so the same activity is available in any session. It is not a once-a-day gate you can miss forever.
The nine minigames
The list below is the most complete published version, with player caps and time limits attached. The durations were cross-checked against a second source written independently and they match to the second, which makes the timing reliable even where the schedule is not.
| Minigame | What you actually do | Players | Time limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jump Jump | Dodge sweeping lasers while collecting balloons for points | 1-4 | 2:55 |
| Not This Tile? | Memorise which tiles are safe across eight rounds and collect bubbles | 1-6 | 3:15 |
| Hidden Lugi | One side hunts disguised Lugis while the Lugis gather Odyle Drops unseen | 2-9 | 3:30 |
| Odyle Flight Frenzy | Fly a canyon route collecting Odyle Drops through boost rings | 1-8 | 3:30 |
| Goldrin's Treasure | Find and open treasure chests marked by columns of light | 1-8 | 3:50 |
| Wraith Evasion | Collect Odyle Drops while avoiding or escaping wraiths | 1-6 | 5:00 |
| Mysterious Track | Race mounts to the finish through obstacles, grabbing boosts | 1-8 | 5:00 |
| Defend Shugo Merchants | Hold off enemy waves and protect stranded Shugo merchants | 1-8 | 5:00 |
| Up! Up! Up! | Climb moving platforms as a Gravi to reach the highest point | 1-8 | 5:00 |
None of the nine reward knowledge of your class, and none of them reward the rotation a player would bring from a dungeon. They are short, mechanical and deliberately low-skill, which is the point: the Festival is a currency faucet with a leaderboard attached rather than a test. Two scoring rules are worth knowing before you spend a key on a run, because both decide whether a result is worth anything.
- In Up! Up! Up! you only become eligible for rewards once you clear the first checkpoint. A bad run that never reaches it is worth nothing regardless of how close you looked.
- In Jump Jump a laser hit is not free. Contact with a beam subtracts, so the fastest route is not always the scoring route.
Reward Keys: the rule that actually costs you
A Shugo Festival Reward Key buys one pick from the reward cards shown on the results screen. Placement decides how many picks you are allowed, and the number of keys you are holding decides how many you can actually take, so the two interact in a way that changes how you should play. If you finish first and are offered five picks but only hold two keys, you take two. If you finish last you may be offered none, and spending a key there is the single most common way players waste this currency.
- Check your key count before you enter, not after. The results screen does not care how many keys you brought.
- Claiming is where the key is spent. Cancelling the selection before you confirm does not burn one, so you can open the cards, read them and walk away at no cost.
- Once you confirm a selection it is final and cannot be undone. There is no second look and no refund.
- Never let keys sit at your cap. Keys refill on a timer, and a key that arrives while you are already full is wasted outright.
What is consistent across every source is the structure: keys are granted on a timer rather than bought, a membership raises both the daily amount and the cap, and the Festival key is a per-server resource, so it does not multiply across alts the way character-bound counters do.
What you win, and what you win it with
Reward cards draw from five shared pools: Chaos weapons and armour at rare grade, Shade weapons and armour at common grade, Odyle, Refining Stones and Abyss Points. Alongside those, the participation package pays Centuryroot Tokens and Enhance Stones, and both scale with your character level across nine brackets. At level 50 the standard package is 50 Centuryroot Tokens and 700 Enhance Stones with a chance at a Resurrection Spiritstone, Epic gear, and rolls of Odyle, Refining Stones and Abyss Points. The reward-key package at the same level pays more of everything, including a real chance at Unique gear.
Centuryroot Tokens are the currency that matters, because they are the only Festival output that buys something outside the reward table. They are accepted at the Festival Shop, and there is a second source of the same tokens worth knowing about.
Where to spend Centuryroot Tokens
The Festival Shop sells consumables, wings, a pet, Pantheon decor and skins. The token costs below are the figures two independent sources agree on. Read the list top to bottom and the decision makes itself: the growth consumables are cheap, capped, and feed the two systems that gate your character, while the cosmetics run into the thousands.
| Item | Tokens | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Soul Crystal (Bound) | 20 | Consumable |
| Empathy Candy (Bound) | 20 | Consumable |
| Daevanion Crystal (Bound) | 50 | Consumable, grants a Daevanion Point |
| Soul Codex (Bound) | 200 | Consumable |
| Wisdom Stone (Bound) | 350 | Consumable, grants a Skill Point |
| Superior Picture Frame Crafting Tool | 50 | Pantheon decor |
| Ultimate Picture Frame Crafting Tool | 500 | Pantheon decor |
| Twilight Loop Earrings | 530 | Skin |
| Twilight Loop Necklace | 680 | Skin |
| Violet Butterfly Wings (Bound) | 2,100 | Wings |
| Starry Starry Night Earrings | 2,650 | Skin |
| Starry Starry Night Necklace | 3,400 | Skin |
| Wandering Merchant Lugi | 3,600 | Pet |
| Spirit Wings (Bound) | 4,200 | Wings |
| Lightpath Trace Set (whole set) | 5,000 | Skin set |
| Springflower Butterfly Wings (Bound) | 8,350 | Wings |
| Skilled Professional Set (whole set) | 24,900 | Skin set |
Both shops cap the growth consumables, so tokens left unspent eventually have nothing left to buy. That is the opposite failure to hoarding keys: keys time out, tokens do not, but capped items run out. Buy the capped consumables first and treat the cosmetics as whatever is left over.
Skins and the Closet
Festival skins feed the Closet collection track, where every point raises a slot stat permanently. Token prices here are the cheapest route to that bonus outside normal play.
Titles
A Shugo artwork-collection title exists, and the broader title system pays permanent bonuses just for owning titles.
Wings
Festival wings carry both an equip effect and a permanent ownership effect, and ownership effects stack across every wing you collect.

AION 2: How to ALWAYS Get the BEST Rewards in Shugo Festival
SywoGG · uploaded 2026-10-01 · 7:13
- In the safe tile minigame the top two placements pay the same maximum reward, so competing against your own group is strictly worse than coordinating with it.
- The method it demonstrates: one player takes the points while the rest clear and hold safe tiles, which keeps the whole group inside the paying bands.
- The early rounds decide the reward. The creator states that playing them cleanly is enough to secure the payout and that later rounds become optional.
- Error recovery: when a teammate loses points to a mistake, the rest give up an equivalent amount so the group still finishes in the paying bands.
- A positioning trick worth knowing: crowding together and jumping fits more players onto a single tile than the tile appears to allow.
SywoGG · English captionsOne of the nine is not a competition in the way the others are, and it is the most valuable entry in the Festival for anyone who has read the key rules on this page. In the safe tile minigame the top two placements pay the same maximum reward. That single fact inverts the objective: the thing that maximises your own score is the thing that costs the group the most, and the thing that maximises the group's payout is not scoring at all.
The method demonstrated in the video is straightforward: one player takes the points while the rest of the group clears and holds the safe tiles, which keeps everyone inside the paying bands. The early rounds are what decide the payout, with the creator stating that playing them cleanly is enough and later rounds become optional, and the group can recover a teammate who blunders by having everyone else give up a matching amount. There is also a positioning trick worth knowing, since crowding together and jumping fits more players onto a single tile than the tile appears to allow.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the Shugo Festival in AION 2?
A rotating carnival of nine short minigames that runs through the day on an hourly cadence. Finishing one pays from a shared reward table of gear, Enhance Stones, Abyss Points and Centuryroot Tokens, and spending a Shugo Festival Reward Key is what turns a finish into actual rewards.
How often does the Shugo Festival run?
Hourly. Sources disagree on whether the windows open on the hour or at :15 and :45, and one source explicitly says the :15 and :45 pattern is an older schedule. Check the in-game countdown rather than planning around a published timetable.
Do I need a key to play or to claim?
To play, no. To claim, yes. One key buys one reward card pick, and how many picks your placement allows is further limited by how many keys you are holding.
What are Centuryroot Tokens used for?
They are the Festival currency and are only accepted at the Festival Shop and the NPC Centuryroot Token Shop. The best buys are the capped growth consumables, especially Wisdom Stones at 350 tokens for a Skill Point and Daevanion Crystals at 50 for a Daevanion Point, and the NPC shop sells both far cheaper.
What should I buy first at the Festival Shop?
The capped consumables, because they feed Daevanion and skill progression directly and you can only ever buy a limited number of them. Cosmetics in that shop run from 500 to nearly 25,000 tokens and buy nothing that improves the character.
Can I lose a key by cancelling?
No. Opening the reward cards and cancelling before you confirm does not consume a key. Once you confirm a selection it is final and cannot be undone, so the risk is in confirming carelessly rather than in looking.
Do I lose Festival keys if I do not play?
Keys refill on a timer up to your cap, and any key arriving while you are already at the cap is wasted. That is the argument for spending even on a mediocre result rather than letting the bank fill and overflow.
